Why Children’s Books

The inspiration to write children’s books came from the opportunity to do things with my kids. Some things they are vastly involved in and some things they aren’t. When I was developing some of the coloring books and activity books, the thought process was, what would be some of the things that my children would love to do. At the time, coloring was part of it, but at the same time the development of the children were also a big piece of that. They liked the big pictures that they could color, while also calling out the letters, numbers, and shapes. It was an opportunity for them to learn. Not only did they learn some things, they had fun with it as well.

The coloring books and activity books was also an opportunity for me to learn as well. Prior to developing these books, I had no clue how to work the current software I use today. So even though some may believe the books were simple, the putting them together was anything but simple. Trying to figure out everything all at one time, became quite the task. However, the opportunity presented itself and I took on the challenge full steam ahead.

Now moving onto Sweet Dreams Heavy Machines. I decided to try and take the skills learned building the other books and apply them to a children’s reading book. This was my first children’s reading book and probably took way more time than the book should of to develop. To the long time authors out there, Sweet Dreams Heavy Machines, probably looks like a simple compilation, as they are vastly experienced, but for a new first time author, it took me a moment. If anyone has suggestions, I am keen to learn new things.

The good news is, you will be happy to know that the process is getting easier though. I have already written a new book with the Heavy Machines, as they start working together to build new things. The illustration on this book has gone much faster than the original, which means I am slowly learning new techniques. This is good, new techniques opens the door to new opportunities.

Speaking of new opportunities. I have also written a new book. Right now I am working with an illustrator that has way better drawing skills than myself. You can see some of her designs at @lang_media on Instagram. Of course I am @legeindustriesllc, please feel free to jump in follow us for future updates and upcoming books.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today. Talk with everyone later. Please feel free to drop a comment below.
